Thomas Bohannon-Injury Update

September 28th, 2009

Hello,

As most of you know by now, Thomas was riding a four wheeler this weekend and was very, seriously injured.  I just spoke with his mother, and she stated that Thomas was Life Flighted to Atlanta Medical hospital and has had several surgery’s so far.  She said that the doctors think that he will have to be in a wheel chair for several months, but that he should be fine after that.  I’m sure the Bohannon family will appreciate your prayers.

Good Luck!

August 6th, 2009

Hello everyone,

I would like to welcome all of our new driving students. Of course I want to say hello to our current and former students as well.

We just finished teaching our last driving school before high school starts back. That has given me time to reflect back over the hundreds of students I have had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know, and more importantly, the honor of helping conquer one of adulthoods toughest obstacles, driving.

Most of my friends tell me that I must be an idiot to deliberately put my life in the hands of “those crazy teenagers.” I must admit that with a few of you, I wondered if they were right.  However, I truly love teaching you how to drive. Furthermore, I have enjoyed getting to know “you crazy teenagers.” What has amazed me the most is that, most of you are not crazy. You are intelligent, perceptive, and most of all just trying to figure out who you are going to be when you grow up.

School is starting soon for most of you, so I would like to remind you to take advantage of this wonderful opportunity you have. School is your chance to become who you want to be, not just who you are now. Think of how you want your life to be a few years from now. Set goals, and make plans on how you can get there. Start thinking for yourselves, and take responsibility for your life. Don’t get overwhelmed by life, when you make a mistake, (and you will!), learn from it and move on. You have lots of people to help you, such as your parents, teachers, coaches, friends, and of course your wonderful, talented, and, modest, driving instructor.

Always remember you have something to offer the world. Some of you haven’t figured out exactly what that is yet, but you will. You have the ability to make your life the way you want it. Work hard, play hard, and when you get knocked down, just get back up.

I have enjoyed getting to know all of you! Take care, and enjoy this school year.
Robert

Most Common Traffic Crash

May 9th, 2009

Remember young drivers are most likely to crash into a vehicle directly in front of them.  Slow down, and look 15 seconds ahead of you at all times.

Following Distances

May 5th, 2009

Following: Remember the two second, four second rule.  Do not follow other cars too closely. Watch the car ahead of you; when it passes some reference point, such as a telephone pole, count “one-thousand- one, one-thousand-two.” If you pass the same spot before you are through counting, you are following too closely.  At night or in the rain or anything other than perfect weather, use four seconds.
